For the 2008-09 School Year, Hyde is looking to hire Highly Qualified teachers and fill positions in our
- MIDDLE SCHOOL: Reading Teacher. Candidate must have, at minimum, a Bachelor's Degree in English or related field and/or 18 hours of Reading or Language Arts. The candidate must have a minimum five years' experience; have knowledge of DCPS standards and/or standards' based instruction; excellent classroom management skills a must. All teacher candidates will conduct a demo lesson.
- ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Teaching Assistants. Candidates will be working with 1st and 2nd grade classroom teachers. We prefer our candidates have an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development and, at minimum, two year's experience working with children 3-8 years old.
- SPECIAL EDUCATION Inclusion Department: Middle School Inclusion Teacher/ENGLISH (Grades 6-8). The candidate must assume responsibility for demonstrating achievement of IEP goals and student academic growth through collaboration and planning with the general education teacher. Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in IEP writing and have a minimum two years'' experience with special needs students. Certification in Special Education, or eligibility to become certified in Special Education, is required.
Hyde is also seeking to fill the following administrative position:
- ADMINISTRATIVE: Part-time Payroll Clerk. Candidate must have five years' experience in a fast-paced working environment, a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites and, at minimum, two years' experience with ADP PayXpert.

Note: In accordance with the federal No Child Left Behind regulations, all teaching candidates must already meet “highly qualified” teacher requirements before being hired for teaching positions. For teachers in D.C. charter schools, this means at least a bachelor’s degree in your teaching area (for secondary teachers) and successful completion of elementary Praxis II exams for elementary teachers. Formal certification is preferred, but not required.
